Privacy Policy
Which data is processed when you visit this website – and which is not.
Controller
The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is the provider named in the legal notice (Impressum): Seebie90 Gaming, c/o IP-Management #12295, Ludwig-Erhard-Straße 18, 20459 Hamburg, e-mail: [email protected].
In short
This website uses no analytics or tracking services, and – apart from the account, ticket and forum areas for signed-in users – has no forms or comment function. Fonts and scripts are loaded from our own server; content from third-party servers is only loaded if you explicitly click “Load Twitch player” or “Load YouTube player” (see below). Only two small preference cookies are stored, and only when you make a choice yourself (see below).
Hosting and Cloudflare
The website runs on our own server and is delivered through the service Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Cloudflare receives your request and forwards it to the server. In doing so, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data, in particular your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested and information about your browser.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest is to provide the website securely and reliably and to protect it from attacks. Cloudflare may also process data in third countries; the basis for this is the safeguards provided by Cloudflare under Art. 44 et seq. GDPR (including standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). Further details are in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Server access logs
The web server of this website does not write its own access logs. Your IP address is therefore not stored on the server.
Cookies for language and colour theme
When you choose a language or switch between the light and dark appearance at the top of the page, your browser stores this
choice in two small cookies: sb-lang (language) and sb-theme (colour theme). Each holds only that one
value, applies to all pages under seebie90gaming.com (so your choice stays the same across our websites) and expires
after one year. They exist solely to apply your explicit choice, contain no identifier and are not evaluated. The legal basis is
§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings. If you switch off the background effect (falling bananas) in the footer, your browser remembers this in local storage (localStorage, key sb-bananas); the value stays on your device and is not transmitted.
Live display: online numbers and TeamSpeak
The start page shows how many people are currently online on our Discord servers and who is connected to the TeamSpeak server. Our own server fetches this information once a minute: the numbers from Discord (the publicly available member and online count of the invite, without any names) and the channel list including the nicknames of the users currently connected from the TeamSpeak server. Your browser only talks to our server, never to Discord or TeamSpeak, and no data about visitors of the website is transmitted. What is displayed are the nicknames of those currently on the TeamSpeak server: nickname and channel only, no IP address and no identifier. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (informing the community about current use). If you do not want to appear there, choose a nickname on the TeamSpeak server that does not identify you, or write to the e-mail address in the legal notice.
User account
An account is optional; the start page, the FAQ and the documentation can be used without one. To write tickets or use the forum you register with a username, an e-mail address (required) and a password – or sign in with Discord (see below) – and expressly give your consent (checkbox). What is stored: the username, the e-mail address and whether it is confirmed, the chosen language, a non-reversible check value of your password (scrypt – we do not know the password itself), the role (member, admin or sysadmin; admin rights are granted exclusively by the sysadmin), the time of registration and last sign-in, and the time and version of your consent; for admin accounts also the key for the second factor. Your IP address is not stored: to protect against mass guessing of passwords, our server remembers failed attempts for a few minutes in memory only and does not log them.
E-mail address and e-mail delivery
We use your e-mail address for (1) the confirmation link after registration (valid for 48 hours) and (2) a confirmation for every ticket you create. Confirmations are only sent to confirmed addresses. If you forget your password, we send you a reset link on request (valid for one hour, usable once). The operator also receives an e-mail for every new ticket with your username, your e-mail address and the content of the ticket (without file attachments, but with their names). Delivery runs through the operator's e-mail service (Google Mail (Gmail), Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Irland); that service processes the messages as a processor or recipient. Replies to your ticket appear in the ticket system itself, not by e-mail.
Tickets, bug reports and attachments
In the ticket system you can send a bug report (mod, version number, description, optionally client logs and file attachments) or a general request (subject, category, message). Tickets are visible only to you and the admins. Client logs and attachments can contain technical or personal information (for example player names, file paths or IP addresses); please check them before sending and remove what is not needed. Do not write passwords in tickets. Attachments are kept in a separate storage area on our server, apart from the database, can only be retrieved by you and the admins, and are delivered only as downloads.
Sign in with Discord (optional)
In addition to the account with a password you can sign in with your Discord account. This is voluntary. Only when you click “Sign in with Discord” are you forwarded to discord.com
(Discord Inc., 444 De Haro Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA); no connection to Discord is made before. In doing so, data, in particular your IP address and information about your browser, is
transmitted to Discord, and Discord may use cookies or similar technologies. Discord's privacy policy applies to the processing at Discord.
If you agree at Discord, our server uses the permissions “identify” and “email” to retrieve information about your Discord account (no server list, no friends, no messages). Discord transmits, among other things, your ID, your username, your e-mail address and whether Discord has confirmed it. We use only these details. The server keeps the access token in memory only for this retrieval, revokes it at Discord immediately and never stores it. What is stored: your Discord ID (so that we recognise you next time), the username you chose, your e-mail address confirmed by Discord, and the time and version of your consent. An account is only created after you have chosen a username and expressly agreed; if Discord has not confirmed your e-mail address, we do not create an account. If an account with the same confirmed address already exists, it is linked to your Discord account; you link admin accounts yourself, deliberately, in the account, and admins still need the second factor. Accounts created through Discord have no password at first; you set one via “Forgot your password?”. You can remove the link in the account as soon as you have a password; if you delete your account, the Discord ID is deleted too.
During the sign-in the site briefly sets the cookie sb-oauth (up to 10 minutes; protects the process against forged requests) and, when the account is created, sb-oauth-pending (up to 15 minutes).
Both hold only a random value, are unreadable for scripts and disappear afterwards. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and § 25(1) TDDDG for the visit to Discord); for the two cookies
§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG.
Forum
The forum is visible only to signed-in members with a confirmed e-mail address; to use it you first confirm the forum rules. What is stored: your topics and posts (text, time, and the time of the last edit where applicable), your username as the author, and the time and version of your confirmation of the forum rules. All signed-in members with a confirmed address can see your posts and your username. The posts are not publicly accessible and are not indexed by search engines; your e-mail address is not shown. Please do not write passwords or sensitive information in posts. With “Report” you can report a post: the operator then receives an e-mail with your username, the author, the topic, the beginning of the post and your reason (the report itself is not stored). Admins can delete posts and topics, pin or lock topics and exclude accounts from the forum. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by confirming the forum rules, and providing the forum you asked for ((b)); moderation relies on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (protecting the community from abuse).
Deletion periods
- Attachments: immediately when the ticket is closed (by you or by an admin).
- Closed tickets (messages, logs): automatically and completely after 7 days.
- Open tickets: until the ticket is closed or your account is deleted.
- Confirmation link: 48 hours. Unconfirmed accounts are deleted after 14 days.
- Sign-in (session): up to 30 days; it ends when you sign out.
- Your account: stays until you delete it on the account page – then the account, tickets and attachments are deleted immediately. Admins can also delete accounts.
- Forum posts: stay until you delete them yourself or an admin removes them. You can delete your own posts at any time (a topic that others have replied to is removed by admins on request). If you delete your account, your posts remain without a name as “Deleted account”; on request (e-mail to us) we delete them completely.
- Notification e-mails in the operator's mailbox: are deleted once the ticket is closed.
Legal basis, withdrawal and cookies
The processing is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you expressly give when registering; insofar as it is necessary to provide the account and
ticket handling you asked for, also on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. The security of the sign-in (protection against abuse) relies on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can
withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by deleting your account on the account page or by writing to us by e-mail; the lawfulness
of the processing carried out until then is not affected. When you sign in, the site sets two cookies: sb-session (the sign-in; for this address only,
unreadable for scripts, valid for up to 30 days, ends when you sign out) and sb-hint (a note that you are signed in, so that not every page asks the
server). Both are required for the sign-in you asked for (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG) and are only set when you sign in or register. The FAQ can be read without
signing in and is maintained by the admins.
Twitch player (only after a click)
In the Twitch section of the start page you can show the Twitch player. As long as you do not click “Load Twitch player”, no connection to Twitch is made. By clicking you consent to your browser loading content from player.twitch.tv. The operator is Twitch Interactive, Inc., 350 Bush Street, 8th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA. In doing so, data, in particular your IP address and information about your browser, is transmitted to Twitch; Twitch may use cookies or similar technologies. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time for the future by reloading the page and not starting the player. Which videos are shown (the running stream or the latest recordings) is requested from Twitch by our own server; no data about visitors is transmitted in the process. Further information is in Twitch's privacy policy.
YouTube player (only after a click)
In the “Mod Showcase & More” section of the start page, on the “Arma Reforger” page and in individual posts (news and projects) you can show a YouTube player. As long as you do not click “Load YouTube player”, no connection to YouTube is made. By clicking you consent to your browser loading content from www.youtube-nocookie.com (enhanced privacy mode). The operator is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. In doing so, data, in particular your IP address and information about your browser, is transmitted; Google may also process information in the USA. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time for the future by reloading the page and not starting the player. The list of the latest videos (title and date; on the Arma Reforger page only those matching the game, recognised by keywords in title and description) is fetched by our own server from the public channel feed; no data about visitors is transmitted in the process. Further information is in Google's privacy policy.
External links
The website links to external sites, for example our Discord server and other channels. A connection to the respective provider is only made when you click such a link. The provider's privacy policy applies to its data processing.
Contact by e-mail
If you write to us by e-mail, we process your details (sender address, content of the message) to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR or, where the request concerns a contract, Art. 6(1)(b). We delete the data once the request has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) (Art. 21). You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For any request, please use the e-mail address given in the legal notice.
